Child Safety Policy

How the club keeps under-18 players safe: checks, supervision, reporting and communication with parents.

Applies to Every session with a player under 18Owner Bossley Bears Volleyball Club Pty Ltd (ABN 58 680 308 070)Effective 1 October 2026

01Our commitment

Bossley Bears is a child-safe organisation. Every decision about teen sessions starts with the safety and wellbeing of the players in them.

02Working With Children Checks

Every adult coach and volunteer in a child-related role holds a current NSW Working With Children Check, verified by the club before their first session and re-verified on expiry. Assistant coaches under 18 are not required to hold one, and are never the responsible adult for a group.

03Supervision

Teen groups are coached separately from adults. Each teen session is run by one coach. Coaches do not contact under-18 players privately; communication goes through parents or the club channels.

04Photos and video

Under-18 players are photographed only with parent consent recorded on the account, and never identified by full name in public posts.

05Reporting a concern

Any concern about a child’s safety goes to the club immediately — email enquiries@bossleybears.com.au or tell any coach in person — and to the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian or police where required by law. If a child is in immediate danger, call 000.
