Pathways · Five steps

From your first class to a rep team

Every rep player at this club started in a class. Here is the route to a representative team, what each step asks of you, and how you know you're ready for the next one.

1
Classes
Weekly 90-minute classes, adults and teens. Fundamentals first, then intermediate socials to apply it in rallies, then the Intermediate class. One skill focus per session, waves at the end.
Asks of you
One night a week. Turn up on time, in court shoes.
Ready for the next step when
You're in Intermediate, applying your skills under pressure, and your coach says so.

2
Development Program
A 6, 9 or 18-week block in a group of 12–14. Coordination and movement weeks, then game-like scenario weeks. Streams by game knowledge, not position — middles learn to pass, setters learn to attack.
Asks of you
Every session of the block. It's built to progress week on week.
Ready for the next step when
Your end-of-program report says you're game-ready in at least two skills.

Pre-SVL
Team-based training for players heading into trials. Rotations, systems and scrimmages against the rep squads.
Asks of you
Game-ready skills and the habit of training with the same group every week.
Ready for the next step when
Trials open in January. Everyone in Pre-SVL is expected to trial.

Trials
Mid-January to early February. Warm-up, ball control, all-skills, hitting lines and games — published in advance so nobody walks in blind. Passing, defence, setting, hitting, serving, plus coachability and team spirit.
Asks of you
One session, maybe a callback. Register beforehand.
If you miss out
Straight into the next Development Program block. Most players trial twice.

5
Representative
SVL and YSVL teams. Two trainings and one game day a week, plus a film and tactics session and a plyometrics and education block.
Asks of you
A full season. Season fees, with a discount for players who assistant-coach a class.
What you get back
Coach education, scrimmages, a pre-season comp and a conditioning program. And your say — a player survey every 6–8 weeks.
